Hi, I'm L! (they/them)
I'm a trans Brazilian photographer, based in Portland, OR, USA. I'm also a philologist with a degree in Languages and Literature (Portuguese/ French/ Latin) from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP/ Brazil) with an emphasis on discourse analysis. in 2017, i began an adventure pursuing my biggest dream: continuing my education abroad. I received my master's in Photography, Art and Technique at Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain.
Since 2012, I've been building and cultivating this beautiful (and healing) relationship with photography. through this lens i worked on many body centered and feminist projects back in Brazil, and also worked for the Brazilian government on a Gender photography project in a really poor neighborhood.
My biggest passion is the portrait. I love photographing people and capturing the magic of their intimacy. I work with many families, from different races and countries. I also photograph more intimate weddings, small ceremonies and lifestyle.
Currently, I'm working on my personal project "Relinquo umbram", observations and commentary on mechanisms of power (Foucault and the Panopticon) and the liberation of gender from control structures.
In all of my works, I talk about the power and flow of bodies as political subjects, aware of their limits and desires.
